Evaluation of the Structure of Thermoplastic Elastomers by the Method of Equilibrium Swelling – Gaidadin A.N., Safronov S.A., Kulikova M.Yu., Navrotskii V.A., Kytsov D.A., Kharlamov V.O. (P. 4)

Swelling of dynamic thermoplastic elastomers (TPR) based on blends of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM) or chlorosulfonated polyethylene (ChSPE) have been studied to obtain the data of their structure. Selective for EPDM solvents were in use and migration of EPDM in these solvents after equilibrium swelling is measured. The data on the difference in behavior of composites containing LDPE and ChSPE are presented. The possibility to evaluate the difference between chemical and physical joints as well as the use of Flory-Renner equation to characterize the structure of TPR is shown. Mechanical properties of TPR studied are measured.

Preparation of High Shock-Resistant and High Flow PP/EPDM/Talc Compositions by Means of Reactive Extrusion – Ryzhikova I.G., Volkov A. M., Bauman N. A., Kazakov Yu.M., Volfson S.I. (P. 8)

The influence of the triple system PP/EPDM/talc composition on the shock-resistance and MFI of the final compounds obtained by means of reactive compounding, has been studied. Appropriate choice of modification system, optimal combination of the concentration and ratio of components open the possibility to produce the compounds of high flow and shock-resistance. The type of the components interaction has to be taking into account.

Effect of the Nature of Måtal Oxide on the Peroxide Vulcanization of the Fluoroelastomer SKF-32 – Sokolova L.V., Nepomnyaschii A.F., Kanayzova A.A., Reznichenko S.V. (P. 12)

Comparative analysis of the activity of the organic peroxides on the mineral bearer at vulcanization of the fluoroelastomer SKF-32 in presence of the metal oxides is performed. The degree of the cross-linking of SKF-32 is depended not only on the chemical structure and concentration of the peroxide, quantity and nature of the mineral bearer but also on the nature of metal oxide. Magnesium oxide is shown to be the best cross-linking agent for the peroxide vulcanization of the SKF-32 in contrast with zinc oxide.

Production and Study of Rubber Compound based on Isoprene and Modified Styrene- Butadiene Rubbers – Mustafaeva R. (P. 18)

New modifier was synthesized and properties of rubber compound for tire carcass based on isoprene (SKI-3) and modified styrene-butadiene (SKS-30 ARKM-15) rubbers have been studied. By means of IR spectroscopy chemical structure of modifier was established. Improvement of strength properties, tear resistance, fatigue, adhesive properties and thermal stability of vulcanizates is shown

Upgrading of Quality of Sealing Elements of Packer-Anchor Equipment – Sandalov S.I., Reznikov M.S., Ushmarin N.F., Koltsov N.I. (P. 22)

Effect of composition of technical rubber based on blends of hydrogenated (Therban 3406) and usual butadiene acrylonitrile rubbers (BNKS-18ÀMN) on sealing ability of elements of packer-anchor equipment was studied. The main attention is paid on the choice of vulcanization system. Strength properties and compression set after thermal aging were determined and special tests simulating service condition of packer-anchor equipment behavior were performed. Compositions of rubbers for the production of elastic sealing elements of oil drilling equipment were proposed.

Some Possibilities of the Quantitative Interpretation of Non-Isothermal Rheometric Curves – Agayants I.M., Naumova Y.A., Ovsyannikov N.Ya., Vlazneva M.V. (P. 28)

Cure kinetics of isothermal and non-isothermal conditions for elastomer materials based on synthetic (isoprene and butadiene acrylonitrile) rubbers were constructed. The ability of describing of rheograms by using a model nonlinear with respect to parameters was considered. The change of the torque and the rate of this change over time were plotted as functions of time and the equivalent time. If plotted as functions of equivalent time character of non-isothermal part of rheograms practically doesn’t dependent on the heating rate. This approach can be useful in the development of vulcanization modes.

Application of Quantum Chemistry Methods to the Development of Composite Materials Based on Rubbers and Polyamide – Multanovskàyà N.A. (P. 30)

Quantum chemistry methods were in use to evaluate the compatibility of composite materials based on polyamide (PA) and various grades of rubbers (ethylene-propylene SKEPT-50, isoprene SKI-3, butadiene acrylonitrile SKN-40 and fluoroelastomer FKM). Maximum negative change of energy ΔE was sown for blends of PA and FKM. Strength properties of such composites were measured and their difference from additive values found to correlate with the values of ΔE. Strength of composites of PA with SKN-40 is close to additive, strength of composites of PA with FKM is even slightly higher. IR data suggest formation of chemical bonds in this composition. The parts of printing machines were prepared from composition based on blends of PA and FKM and high service ability of this composition is shown.

Outdoor Test Bed for Fatigue Testing of Rubber Compounds – Kavun S.M., Medjibovsky A.S., Dement'ev A.V., Kolokolnikov A.S., Sudarenko E.N., Shraer A.Z. (P. 34)

The outdoor test bed for prolonged fatigue test of rubber compounds under static and dynamic elongation, developed by “Qualitet R&D LLC”, is presented. This device allows quickly and adequately to estimate the resistance of rubber compounds of the different stabilizers systems to the atmospheric factors, first of all – to the atmospheric ozone. These tests may be of interest at development of rubber composition for tires and technical goods, for example, tire sidewalls and treads as well as conveyer belts. It will be useful also at the choice of optimal protecting systems for such rubbers in terms of effectiveness and economic.
