N. Datta (P. 2 ). Results of addition of 1–3 phr of p-aramid short fibers for reinforcement of tire rubber compounds are presented. Improvement of cut/chip/chunk resistance as well as other properties, for instance hysteresis, heat build, durability and tire rolling resistance is shown. Investigation of Interface Tension between Components of Thermoplastic Blends on the Base of Rubber and Polyolefins Filled with Rubber Crumb – Babich V.F., Perepelitsina L.N., Tolstov A.L., LipatovYu.S. (P. 7). Surface and interface tensions between components of thermoplastic blends: butadiene and ethylene-propylene rubber, polyethylene, polypropylene and rubber crumb were experimentally measured by estimation of equilibrium contact angels at the temperature of 180 °C of melted polymers on surface of PTFE as well as other components placed on rigid surface. The ways of improvement the components compatibility have been under consideration. Elastomeric Halogenated Polybutenes of Reduced Combustibility – Ronkin G.M. (P. 11). A number of new elastomeric materials have been obtained by means of treatment of polybutene-1 by bromine, iodine, and sulfur containing substances. Processing and mechanical properties of different types of such elastomers as well as chlorobutene were studied and compare with that of other chlorinecontaining elastomers. An advantage of new elastomers, especially in combustibility and adhesive properties is shown. The Application of Chloroprene Latex to Treatment of Nonwoven Material –Dedov A.V., Bokova E.S. (P. 14 ). Mechanical properties of nonwoven material treated by chloroprene latex have been studied. The best properties are available only under optimal concentration of rubber in latex. Mechanism of deformation of nonwoven material is suggested and effect of latex is shown. About the Swelling of Films Based on Carboxyl Containing Latex SKD-1c in Solvents and Water – Shmurak I.L. (P. 16). Effect of of pH and Ammonia Treatment on properties of Films based on carboxyl containing butadiene latex SKD-1c has been studied. Increase of the interaction intensity of carboxyl groups with polyamide, resorcinol formaldehyde resin and ammonia as a result of decrease of the ionization degree of these groups in latex was shown. These results open the possibility to improvement of tire cord adhesives based on this latex and, consequently, of polyamide cord adhesion to rubber. The Role of the Nature and Structure of Carbon Black of High Porosity and Its Interaction with Matrix in Reinforcement of Elastomers – Nikitin Yu.N. (P. 18). The results obtained by author and his colleagues concerning structure, properties, and application of the furnace carbon black of high porosity and its behavior in elastomer systems are summarized. To Assortment of Porous Furnace Carbon Black for Antistatic and Electroconductive Rubbers – Nikitin Yu.N., Khodakova S.Ya., Anikeev V.N. (P. 20). An advantage of application of furnace carbon black of high porosity to development of antistatic and electroconductive rubbers especially in combination with standard carbon black are shown. Effect of Cobalt Stearate and Oleate on Rubber-to-Metal Cord Strength – Rakhmatullina A.P., Portnoi Ts.B., Akhmed’yanova R.A., Liakumovich A.G. (P. 23). Effect of ratio of cobalt oleate and cobalt stearate on properties of rubber compounds and rubber-to-metal cord strength, especially in wet condition, has been studied. Phase diagram of mixture for melting points with two eutectic points and one maximum is obtained. Molar ratio (1,5–2):1 provides the minimum of viscosity of breaker compound based on blend of natural and synthetic isoprene rubbers. This ratio provides also the better resistance to wet, thermal, and “salt” aging of rubber-to-metal cord system. New Ester Plasticizier Based on Products of Alcohol Processing – Shutilin Yu.F., Dankovcev V.A., Grebennikova O.I., Shrai-ner M.V. (P. 25). New ester plasticizer for polar rubbers as a product of alcohol processing was obtained. Comparison with dibutyl phthalate is presented. The best mechanical and processing properties of compounds based on butadiene acrylonitrile rubbers with this plasticizer are shown. Gas Filled Material Based on BNR, BSR and PVC – Vikhireva N.P., Mel’nik L.A., Podnebesnyi A.P., Tereschenko N.M. (P. 27). The possibility of the use of gas filled materials based on butadiene acrylonitrile and styrene-butadiene rubbers and polyvinylchloride has been shown. The effect of ingredients and its contents on material properties is studied and the optimal ratio of elastomers is determined. Infrared Temperature Gages – Gurta F., Mikula D. (P. 29). Different types of infrared gages have been described. Their application to distant temperature measurement under different condition is under discussion. Development of New Design of Safe Tyre – Yusupov A.A., Veselov I.V., Yurtsev L.N., Sokolov S.L. (P. 33). Radial tires of different types with elastic elements instead of carcass fibers providing the safe service under mechanical damage of tire casing are designed and tested. Special method of calculation for such tires based on nonlinear elastic model with the use of FEM is developed. Comparison of the results with experiment show its adequacy. Actuality of Evaluation of Wear Resistance of Cover Rubbers of Conveyer Belts – Golikov G.F (P. 36 ). Effect of the thickness and quality of cover rubber on durability of rubber|fabric conveyer belts and importance of wear resistance have been shown. Empirical dependence of wear resistance of belts cover on service time is presented. The Main Ways of Tire Products Cost-Effectiveness Enhancement –Vlasov G.Ya., Syritsyn L.M., Tchemerinskii V.B. (P. 38). The model of “quality–cost” balance providing the possibility to various factory divisions to check their work efficiency is suggested. Correlation of customer- and environmental safety-related properties with economic properties is under discussion. The first conclusions are presented. Separate economic and mathematical models should be designed for each individual set of product parameters such as product weight, optimum quality and cost.
